| Located in west central
Alabama, the Canebrake is an area with a well-defined sense of
history. Antebellum and Victorian homes, Civil War and Civil
Rights sites, and ancient Indian mounds dot the region. For
outdoor enthusiasts, the Canebrake boasts access to not only the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and Black Warrior River, but to many lakes
and smaller tributaries as well. These waterways form the foundation for
the area's rich wildlife, paleontology and geology, and outdoor
recreational experiences. |
